Should You Hire a New Commercial HVAC Provider?

Commercial properties have greater and more complex heating and cooling demands compared to single residential buildings. Therefore, you need a provider or contractor that can meet these demands. In today’s post, EZ Air Conditioning and Heating shares the signs that you need to switch to a different HVAC provider.

Persistent HVAC Issues After Service

If your commercial HVAC system continues to experience the same problems even after maintenance checks or repairs, your current service provider might not be trained and/or equipped to address the core issues effectively. Persistent issues can eat away at your maintenance budget with repeated appointments, as well as cause recurring business disruptions that could cost you revenue. A trained HVAC service provider should design solutions that address such problems once and for all.

Poor Preparation

If your current HVAC contractor frequently makes trips back to the shop for forgotten tools or parts, this is a sign of unpreparedness. Not only does it preclude potentially sloppy work, but these repeated trips can cause delays. If the service provider has multiple appointments in the day, it could cause a domino effect that would delay other appointments down the line. A well-prepared HVAC technician should be well-prepared and won’t waste your time.

Too Frequent Sales Pitches

Pay attention to how often your HVAC provider pushes for an upgrade or replacement, especially when your HVAC system hasn’t even reached the end of its service life. These are people that are more concerned about closing a sale than getting you the most out of your HVAC system. Keeping in mind that HVAC systems are some of the most repairable equipment available, your HVAC provider should prioritize repairs and only recommend replacement when all else is impractical.

Lack of Transparency

Trust is built on transparency between client and provider. Your HVAC provider should be upfront about everything concerning your building’s HVAC system. Costs, timelines, scope of work — all of these should be clearly documented and should have no hidden clauses or charges that you’re only informed about after the fact.
