Since the inside of your HVAC system is often cold and wet, it allows mold and other microbial organisms to grow.
The most likely locations where biofilms can develop are the air conditioning coils and condensate pans. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registered antimicrobials can be applied in these areas, but some biofilms create contaminated airborne particles throughout the HVAC system and are more difficult to remove.
