What to Expect During an Air Conditioning Install

Even if you work with a reputable company, there are several steps to take to prepare for a new HVAC system installation. After all, this endeavor requires a lot of your time and money, so make the most of it.

Before Installation

The contractor will run a load estimate to determine the size of the HVAC you need. This assessment looks at your home’s size, layout and energy efficiency as well as your family’s lifestyle and temperature preferences. It’s required to avoid having an enormous or undersized air conditioner.

The pre-installation technicians may also inspect your air ducts for filth, clogs or leaks. Leaky or poorly maintained ductwork might make sizing your new HVAC system challenging.

After you select an HVAC system, the contractor will contact you to schedule an installation. The installation personnel will arrive at your home at the appointed time. They will notify you if there are any unexpected delays.

During Installation

In order to properly install your new air conditioner, the air conditioning installation team will first locate your existing HVAC system and select the most effective and safest installation method. They will protect your home from any damage caused by the installation. A good contractor will use tarps and foot covers to keep your home tidy.

Their next step is to disassemble and properly dispose of your old HVAC system. They will remove your old air conditioner and clean up the area before installing the new one.

The staff will then bring in your new HVAC unit and all necessary installation equipment. They will conduct any necessary retrofits before installing your new air conditioner. They may have to remove specific components to fit them into tight regions like the attic or crawl spaces. They will install drain lines, pipes and other components as required by the construction code. This system will be installed per the manufacturer’s instructions.

After Installation

After the installation, the specialists will inspect and test your new system. They will cleanse the old lines before adding new coolant to the AC and perform vacuum tests to ensure proper installation.

After your new HVAC unit passes inspection, the installers will remove all tools and materials. They will then send out a sales technician to explain the system and inspect it. They will not leave until you are completely satisfied.
