Your HVAC Maintenance Resolutions for 2023

The idea of a New Year’s resolution is to achieve certain goals or work on changing something within oneself over the next 12 months. You may have already identified yours, but it’s also good to make room for another. How about your HVAC unit? After all, keeping it well-maintained and in great condition year-round is a resolution in itself.

EZ Air Conditioning and Heating, your trusted heating and AC repair contractor, suggests HVAC maintenance resolutions to consider keeping in 2023.

Keep Up With Maintenance

A twice-a-year inspection is ideal for your HVAC system’s optimal performance. Your AC, for instance, must be checked in spring, in preparation for the summer months. Fall, meanwhile, is the best time to prepare your furnace. Through maintenance, you prevent your unit from breaking down. Sign up for a maintenance agreement if your local contractor offers one.

Ensure a Clean Unit

To keep your HVAC system functioning efficiently, be sure to clean the interior and exterior of the unit regularly. This can include wiping down the outside of the unit with a damp cloth, removing any debris from around the unit and vacuuming out any dust or dirt that has accumulated inside. Your local heating and AC service company can perform any of these tasks before they proceed with the inspection.

Change Air Filters

Your HVAC’s air filters should be changed regularly to maintain efficient airflow and reduce dust and dirt buildup. How frequently you’ll have to do it will depend on whether you have pets at home or have a family member who has a respiratory problem.

Invest in a Programmable Thermostat

Still got an old, manual thermostat by the wall of your living room? Consider switching to a new, programmable type! Thermostats nowadays are equipped with features that can adjust your HVAC’s daily output on the fly based on your routine. With this, you can achieve significant savings on your utility bill.
